Citizen Police Academy
Overview
The Citizen's Police Academy provides citizens with a better understanding of the Canyon Police Department.
The academy consists of eight (8) weeks of instruction meeting Thursday evenings from 6:00 - 9:00 pm in the Adobe Room at the Cole Community Center, 301 16th Street. Attending the academy will not certify you to work as a police officer, but it will give you insight into police work and you'll have fun along the way.
Each week a different area of the criminal justice system is covered. Instructors represent a cross section of the department and other law enforcement professionals each of who are well qualified in their field.

Any interested citizen who resides or works in the City of Canyon is encouraged to attend. Citizens involved with the community in some way, such as youth involvement, neighborhood watch, and neighborhood groups are very important to the academy. You must be at least 18 years of age.
